Narrowing Your Search
The more information you have about an inmate, the better a chance you have of finding him or her more quickly. Gathering as much basic information—such as the full name, age, gender, and birth date—will get the process moving in the right direction. The more details the better. Things like race and hair color are also indicators that can help narrow the search. It’s even possible to find who you are looking for by providing a nickname and the date that person was arrested in Tarrant County. However, this will only be effective in offline tactics, as plugging a nickname into an online search likely won’t work. You also need to know whether the person you are looking for is in Tarrant County jail or in prison. If they have just recently been arrested and are awaiting bail or trial, they are likely in jail. If they are serving a sentence, especially a sentence greater than one year, they could be remanded to prison.Searching Online—Tarrant County Jail Database
You can start an online search on the Tarrant county web site where the person was arrested. If you are unsure of what county they were arrested in, search the county they live in. You’re specifically looking to search in the municipal, police department, or sheriff department’s database. Plugging in a first and last name will usually reveal info about whoever is being held within that county, including in which facility. It’s important to know, however, that not all counties in Texas support this kind of online database, and some that do have it often don’t update it daily. So, you may search for the person who has not yet been entered into the system even though he or she is being held in that county. Try to be patient and check back again daily. Or you can simply just call the jail directly.Searching Offline—Contact County Jails
While trying to locate someone who has been arrested via online channels does work, it may be simpler to directly call the jails in that county. You can use the Internet to find the non-emergency phone number of the specific county, and they should be able to help guide you to find who you are looking for. Keep in mind that if you are not sure about where the person you are looking for was arrested then you’ll need to call several counties until you locate the right one. You can ask each county for the others’ numbers to save some time. Again, you will have to show some patience. Processing arrest paperwork takes time, and it may be a few days till you can know for sure exactly where that person is.Contact a Bail Bond Agent
